Purple Iris

My first purple Iris has bloomed this morning in all its glory. All of my Irises are from bulbs sent to my grandmother and mother from my Aunt Velma when she lived in Belguim more than 60 years ago. When my grandmother died, I dug up the Irises from her yard in Texas and brought them to my home in Tulsa. They have bloomed every year. I celebrate the beauty of the matriarchs of my family when the purple Iris blooms burst forth in spring symbolizing all of their faith, hope, wisdom and royalty. I thank God for purple Irises and all that they represent to me. I share this today for a friend who is far away from home today and having a difficult day just wanting to be home. May peace flood this friend's heart and every heart of those far from home longing to be with their loved ones. ​
